Description
Versus is a lovingly biting theatrical whirlwind examining contemporary daily life, as experienced by our birthday boy Gerald. Today, everything feels off. Everything is just too much. So maybe you could help him with breakfast? Give life advice to his kids? Can someone else walk his dog? Help him get out of his birthday party?
As Gerald moves through his day, he’s getting help from, and checking in with the audience constantly: how are you living right? Is this how I do it? It matters they are there: Gerald needs people. We all do.
The day becomes increasingly impossible, so Gerald pries at a sore tooth to land himself at the dentist with a can of nitrous oxide–he needs a break. From the first inhale, Gerald and the audience are on a ride through the horror, surreality, grief, and joy of being alive and everyone gets to come to the party at the end.
Versus is a laugh-out-loud experience that cannot be recreated outside of the theatre, an offer of connection back to yourself and to others that is totally ad-free.
