Presented by Small World Music, the Aga Khan Museum, and The Creative School Chrysalis, Saami Brothers Qawwali invites audiences to experience an evening of powerful Sufi voices, melodies, and rhythms. Known as “the path of the heart,” Qawwali expresses the deep devotion of Sufi mystics through music that builds from meditative chants and percussion to powerful, ecstatic peaks.
The Saami Brothers are four sons of acclaimed maestro Ustad Naseeruddin Saami and accomplished vocalists carrying forward the traditions of Qawwali and Khayaal. Their musical lineage belongs to the Qawal Bachcha Delhi Gharana, a tradition tracing its roots back approximately 800 years to Saamat Bin Ibrahim, a principal student of Hazrat Ameer Khusrau.
This performance is part of Small World Music’s Art of Devotion Series, an exploration of Qawwali music and its rich cultural and spiritual traditions.
