Description
CLEOPATRA is an upcoming theatrical performance piece written by Canadian playwright and artist Erum Khan. Developed through workshops and residencies—including a stint with the Buddies in Bad Times Theatre Residency program—the play re-examines the historic Egyptian queen through a modern, critical lens. Khan's work is driven by an interest in how history, predominantly written by men, has reduced an exceptionally intelligent polymath who grew up around the world's largest library to a mere symbol of beauty and seduction. Under the direction of Liz Peterson and produced alongside a collaborative team of artists, the piece seeks to challenge these male-dominated historical narratives and restore depth to Cleopatra's legacy.
Food & Drink
Food and drink aren't permitted in the theatre. The exception is a show with a bar or concession running — when there is one, we'll say so on the event page.
