aabaakwad presents an evening of bold and boundary-pushing performances that bring together music, poetry, performance art, and storytelling. Continuing their revolutionary sound, three-time Juno Award winners The Halluci Nation, featuring Bear Witness and Tim “2oolman” Hill, bring their signature blend of electricity, heart, and music with a message that invites audiences to dance.
The program also features Ikumagiialit (Those That Need Fire), a performance art band with Cris Derksen, Laakkuluk Williamson-Bathory, and Christine Tootoo, exploring a beautiful and terrifying journey through fear.
Additional performances include Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist Archer Pechawis with Genocide Falling, poet and performer Timimie Märak sharing beautiful truths and queer dreams, and Roula Said presenting haunting poetry from Gaza set to song.
From Greenland, Kimmernaq Kjeldsen and Mike Thomsen bring an acoustic performance, while Sarah DeCarlo and Charlie Glasspool close out the lineup with soulful, catchy songs full of energy and fun.
